St. Saviour’s identifies itself as an “open church.” By this we mean that all persons, wherever they are in the spiritual journey, are welcome to come and be a part of this community. We seek to be a safe place for skeptics and agnostics as well as for believers. We are an inclusive church in which people from many backgrounds have found common ground. We are a diverse community which has discovered in God a oneness greater in significance than our differences. We have come to know that our variety, in truth, reflects the divine comprehensiveness of the God of all created things. People come to church for a variety of reasons. We assume that because you come, in some way – subtle or profound – the Spirit of God drew you here. The communion meal of Christ’s presence among us in the form of bread and wine is offered to anyone who comes with a sincere heart to receive it. More Information

St. Margaret's Episcopal Church opened in 1915 and served as a 'summer chapel' until 1930. Named for Margaret of Antioch, scenes from her life are depicted in the stained glass window facing the organ. The two small windows nearby show Margaret's coat of arms (left) and the victor's crown, palm leaves, and cross of Faith (right). The chancel windows depict the Crucifixion (left), the Resurrection (right), and Christ 'crowned and triumphant' (center). The side panels show the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. Most of the stained glass windows were installed between 1922 and 1928 after the church was built. All of the windows listed were made in the studios of James Powell & Sons (Whitefriars) Ltd. of London. The same company produced the windows for the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, NYC, and many English churches, cathedrals and colleges. More Information

We believe that good food travels the shortest possible distance between the farm and the table. Our menu is founded upon the very best raw materials from a community of Maine farmers, fishermen, foragers, and cheesemakers, who are also our friends and neighbors. Most of these Maine foods are organically grown or harvested wild, each brought to us at the peak of its season. Our cooks are constantly inspired and excited by the variety and taste of these local ingredients. More Information
